As the bearing capacity of the soil has already been established to be poor for piles during the positioning of the house, I have decided to incorporate a bond beam of reinforced concrete. There will still be four anchor piles for bracing but the beam will provide support to stop them sinking over time. The architect specified some details for the decks and stairs so they formed the starting basis of the design.  Setting up profiles for the heights & position of the build lines   Starting to dig the ground beam     Holes & Piles  Trying the pile bases so I don't need to pour footings separately (high delivery charges or a manually mixed bag for each pile)  12mm reinforcing bars to tie the beam together    Next Page - Bearers & Joists |
